Nadine Lewis

Attorney at Law

Nadine Lewis is a seasoned civil litigator practicing in Los Angeles and Ventura County Superior Courts.

Ms. Lewis is a zealous advocate for civil rights violations, from gender bias in the legal system, to age, race, or discrimination in the workplace, and violations of the Americans with Disability Act or the corresponding California Unruh Act. In America, no citizen should endure discrimination and inhumane treatment in a country founded on the promise of freedom and justice for all. Ms. Lewis will demand restitution from those who violate your civil rights.

Ms. Lewis has a broad-based private practice which also focuses on Real Estate litigation and transactions; including landlord/tenant matters, evictions, foreclosure defense and other remedies to assist homeowners who are in distress from negotiating distressed loans, short sales and litigation when necessary. During the last foreclosure crisis, Nadine served a term on California State Bar Consumer Finance Committee. In that capacity Nadine published many articles on consumer protection cases.

History of Service

Since her admission to the State Bar of California in 1995, Ms. Lewis has represented litigants in family law matters, from trial to appeal. As a volunteer, Nadine was counsel to many under-represented litigants through Legal Aid in their Santa Monica Domestic Violence Restraining Order Clinic. As a founding board member of Break the Cycle, a Santa Monica non-profit organization that provides legal representation and education to teenage victims of dating violence, Nadine worked as an advocate to help pass legislation for this cause.

In 2008, Ms. Lewis served on the Board of Directors of Friendly House in Los Angeles. Founded in 1951, Friendly House was one of the first treatment centers in the country for women recovering from substance and alcohol abuse. In her private practice she has represented sober living houses, treatment centers as well as their patients and clients.

Since her admission to the State Bar of California in 1995, Ms. Lewis has had a strong commitment to community service and pro bono representation of low-income clients. For over one decade Nadine sat on the Legal Advisory Committee and the Speakers Bureau for the Anti-Defamation League’s Los Angeles Office. Ms. Lewis also served a term on the Brady United Southern California regional leadership council, raising funds and lobbying for common sense gun control and putting an end to family fire.

A Fervent Advocate

As a founding board member of Break the Cycle, a Santa Monica non-profit organization that provides legal representation and education to teenage victims of dating violence, Nadine worked as an advocate to help pass legislation for this cause.

Ms. Lewis was a lobbyist in both Sacramento and Washington DC. In her role as Vice President of Government Relations & Business Development for MMR Information Systems Inc., Nadine worked on legislation to further the Presidential Mandate to have Electronic Health Records for every American by the year 2014. She was a member of the advocacy and public policy organization HIMMS in Washington DC. Nadine was also a regular participant in the Health & Human Services (HHS) committee dubbed the “American Health Information Community,” which made Electronic Health Records adoption its top priority.

During her term with the National Association of Ignition Interlock Providers, Ms. Lewis worked with the California Highway Patrol and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) to help pass legislation that would require the use of Ignition Interlock Devices for all first-time DUI offenders. She has been a speaker for the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Office of Traffic Safety and has taught Continuing Legal Education to many other state & local law enforcement agencies.
